Young Fundraiser of the Year

Jack Edwards (Nominated by Mum)

Jack Edwards is 7 years old and attends Peters Hill Primary school in the Black Country.
Jack has been actively involved over the last 18 months helping raise funds for Birmingham Childrens Hospital Charity; raising £2,800

Jack has shown hard work and dedication by organising bake sales, a charity evening, completing a  5k run and helping out on his parents’ hook-a-duck stall with all proceedings going to BCH.

Jack is a patient himself at RHH hospital and BCH and has regular blood tests for this genetic hypercholestrolaemia, he takes medication every night and will have to do so for the rest of his life. Jack never complains and always thinks of others.

He was operated on at 7 weeks of age due to a club foot and wore boots and bars until he was 5 years old. Without the staff at BCH and Mr Prem he would not be able to play football for Stourbridge FC. Jack loves his football as much as he loves to help other children. Jacks ambition is to run the Great North Run and raise funds for BCH. He is so grateful for having his poorly foot fixed and tries so hard to help other children by raising money.

Volunteer of the Year

David Broad

David’s young son Alfie has been in and out of Birmingham Children’s Hospital since he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot. But David still finds the time to not only fundraise but also support the Fundraising team. He is often found dressed as Bertie the Bear at many of our events! He also attends supporter’s events from Boxing night to Dance recitals. Giving beautiful speeches about his time in the hospital but mostly about how much his family, and all the families he has met, appreciate the fundraisers hard work and commitment.

Inspirational Fundraiser of the Year

Neil Taylor

Neil run The Fox at Shipley but also finds the time to organise many events for the charity. From bike rides to auctions and marathons. He inspires everyone and brings out the best in communities. My child is being treated by BCH at present and Neil quite honestly deserves this award.

He has raised over £100,000 in less than 10 years. Through Football events, marathons, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and cycling events.

Fundraising Family of the Year

The Corfield Family

The gorgeous Corfield family have fundraised as part of The Ben Corfield Football Fund. Son, Ben, is half way through his treatment for Leukaemia with the Birmingham Children's Hospital and they’ve set up a charity to fundraise for the hospital. Their phenomenal concert saw 600 people enjoying live music from ‘Go West’ and raised £6,000. This was also partly matched by Lloyds Telford.

Ben is a wonderful little boy and an inspiration to the family and community to keep on fundraising. They plan to put on another event for the hospital in the 2017 with another famous band!

Outstanding Contribution to Fundraising

Lucy Chatting (Carter The Brave)*

Lucy's little boy, Carter was diagnosed with leukaemia last January (2016) - in just over 12 months Lucy has raised an incredible sum for Birmingham Children's Hospital Oncology Ward. She has organised many events from Fun Hat Days with Carter’s school to a glamorous charity Ball! Lucy is an inspiration in the way she is dealing with Carter's diagnosis and treatment plan as well as dedicating any spare time and effort to fundraising for the Hospital.

Lucy and her amazing family are raising awareness of the Charity and it seems like they have rallied the whole of Lichfield behind them to support Carter the Brave!

SUPER STAR

Lenny and his Super Heroes

Leonard and his fellow fundraisers completed such an enormous task in aid of our Star Appeal - a mammoth 26 hours in the gym! They really are true superheroes and superstars!

Their creativity, enthusiasm and sheer determination has blown the entire Fundraising Team away and so far they have donated over £46,000, which will make a huge difference to the lives of our brave children and their families living with a rare or undiagnosed condition.

What's more; the team are continuing their support in 2017 too and are planning break their Guinness World Record for the 'longest consecutive workout' all over again!
