Throughout 2017, fabulous fundraisers from BDO LLP Birmingham have raised over £5,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity!

BDO are committed to sustainability and community involvement in Birmingham, by using the interests and skills of their dedicated employees. Two-hundred staff voted to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, following a number of employees holding a personal connection to our hospital. The office then voted to specifically support our theatres fund and everyone in the office immediately threw themselves into the fundraising effort.

In one year alone, BDO have organised cake bakes, samosa sales, a raffle, tuck shop, afternoon tea, ran a 10K and organised a curling event! If that’s not enough, they are taking part in our Jolly Jumper Day on 15th December too!

Richard Rose, partner and head of BDO in the Midlands, said:

We chose to fundraise for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity to thank them for all the incredible work they do for the children and young people in our region. Our office is based close to the hospital and over the years many of our staff have had personal experiences with the hospital and fundraising is our way of giving something back. Once we had voted for the charity as an office, we then voted for the ward we wanted to support - we chose the theatres ward. We hope that the money we have raised will enable the ward to purchase new machinery to continue the amazing work they do.

BDO have raised over £42,000 in total since they first started supporting Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity ten years ago. With plans for 2018 fundraising already in motion, we are so excited to see what the next ten years will bring!
