A group of singing stars have been crowned this week’s Charity Champion’s after hitting all the right notes at their Christmas Big Gig.

Wednesfield-based Anthem Voices hosted their annual Christmas Concert earlier this month, raising over £1,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

One member of the choir, 15-year-old Liam Davis, has spent a lot of time at the Children’s Hospital as a young child – meaning the charity is a cause close to many of the member’s hearts.

Elise Evans, Musical Director at Anthem Voices, said: “It was an absolute no brainer for us to choose Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, we are a huge fan of the work the charity does for the children and young people of the West Midlands and we wanted to give something back to say thank you for helping our own members families too.

“We had a wonderful evening filled with song and festivity, singing a mix of Christmas classics and old favourites; we also enjoyed an exciting raffle and tasty cupcakes.

“We hope that the money we have raised will bring smiles to patients at the hospital, spreading a little Christmas joy amongst the young people and their families during incredibly difficult times.”

Miranda Williams, Public Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We’re so grateful to Anthem Voices for choosing to support our hospital’s charity at their annual Christmas Concert. The money they’ve raised will go on to support vital work across our hospital, ensuring we can continue to do more for our sick kids.

“It’s so easy to support our charity by hosting your own Big Gig, we’re looking for music enthusiasts of all kinds to host their very own festive fundraiser this Christmas. Whether it’s a music event, quiz night or even comedy night, a Big Gig is great fun will help raise much-needed funds for our patients.”
